COVERLUX: RENAULT COUPE MEGANE 2001

Michael G. B. shows us pictures of his 2001 Renault COUPE Mégane, produced from 1996 to 2003, and his COVERLUX frost protection cover from IDEAL-COVER.

The Renault Mégane of 2001 is a car that was to replace the Renault 19 and compete with the Volkswagen Golf II. It will be produced up to 5 million copies in Europe (Argentina will continue its production) with the help of French ( Douai factory ), Spanish or even Russian factories in Europe.

The Mégane has a diesel or petrol engine at the front with all-wheel drive. It could go up to 210 km/h, which it could achieve in 8.8 seconds with 140 horsepower and 4500 rpm.

The objective of having so many different models of the Renault Mégane comes from the philosophy of the brand. At that time, the brand wanted to diversify its offer. Despite its comfort and road holding, the Mégane suffered from problems of interior ergonomics, particularly with the impractical placement of elements such as the cigarette lighter.
